On The Coast

Santa Cruz and is undoubtedly one of California’s most quintessential beach towns.

With 29 miles of pristine coastline, there are some of the most beautiful beaches, world renowned surf spots and famous coastal attractions such as the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Those fortunate enough to live along the coast will enjoy some of the most beautiful views Monterey Bay has to offer. From the humpback whale migration, sunrise to sunset, rain or shine, the Santa Cruz coastline is breathtaking year-round.

Each of the areas along the coast boast their own unique “vibe” or feel that residence have grown to know and love.

Aptos is home to some of the longest beaches in Santa Cruz County. With miles of white sand and tranquility, these pristine coastal communities offer a relaxed neighborly atmosphere. There are homes right on the beach to homes nestled in wooded private areas.

Capitola By the Sea is definitely a gem along the coast. This special beach town is lined with homes overlooking  the village with outstanding views of Monterey Bay. The homes in the village are right on the beach or nestled along the eclectic streets of Capitola. Everything is within walking distance of any convenience of shopping or dining.

Further north along the coast, also considered the “Eastside” is Opal Cliffs and East Cliff Drive. These friendly neighborhoods provide an eclectic mix of residents and homes. This area boasts some famous surf spots such as Pleasure Point and The Hook and is perfect for walking, biking and running above the shore break. Lot’s of sunshine most of the year with a light refreshing breeze in the afternoons.

Live Oak is sometimes referred to as “Midtown”. It’s slightly inland; however, it includes a stretch of ocean view properties that take advantage of the sunrise and incredible sunsets along the Avenues from 26th to 1st. This neighborhood includes the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor and Seabright Beach. Lots of sunshine here as well and always an afternoon breeze for the those who love to sail.

The Beach Boardwalk, our famous amusement park, is the beginning of Westside coastal living. West Cliff Drive begins with long stretches of popular beaches, Cowell’s Beach and Steamer’s Lane. The 3 ½ mile West Cliff Drive provides some of the most picturesque scenery in the world.  From surfers to dog walkers, joggers, skateboarders and bikers, all you will find enjoying the beauty 365 days a year.
